Leasing a Car and Taking the Driving License

I wanted to share my experience with different car sales appointment.
In Germany you may need to arrange an appointment, especially to get a sales person who can speak English.

BMW 2 Series Active Tourer

For €220+ advertised in http://www.sixt-leasing.de/bmw/2er-active-tourer ; its a great deal for lease car

  • Diesel, Electric

Volvo

For the V40-YOU model, the cost of leasing is approx €280-€350 +/- a month.
The insurance will cost you €80 per month. If you can bring the old insurance and could exhibit a good driver record and experience based on years of driving, you can get 35% discount for your insurance.

The cost of €350 +/- per month covers :

- 2 years leasing contract (you pay what you used)

- Automatic Gear
- 10,000 km per year
- No deposit
- Sensor for rear parking (no camera, if you need it, they can customize)
- All standard features
- Alloy rim
- Plus winter tires with 24months warranty and a baby seat.
( Winter tires are compulsory in temperate countries, if not the insurer will not cover. If you buy these tires on your own, it will cost you slightly cheaper but volvo charged approx €800-880 for a full set plus storage for your normal tire )

- Penalty €0,70 per km if after two years you exceeded 20,000km
- Tolerance will be 2,500km. Meaning you will not be charged with a penalty or fines within the tolerance level.
- If you drove less that 20,000km they will also return your money at the rate of approx €0.50 per km.

However you have to pay an additional €700-800 for Volvo to transport a new car and registration cost if the initial offer is around €280. It can be included in the contract. So eventually you pay more for the final leasing cost.

A disclaimer : Please abide Volvo final cost, the above is just a guideline.
